    スヌープ・ドッグ周辺から登場したラッパー、バッド・アズ。ウェッサイ・アーティスト勢とのユニット＝LBC・クルー名義での作品リリースや、他のラッパーの楽曲に数多くフィーチャーされるなど、何かと重宝がられている、注目の男だ。
    そんな彼も、98年にソロ・デビュー作『ワード・オン・ザ・ストリート』、01年には２nd『パーソナル・ビジネス』、03年には３rd『マネー・ラン』などを発表する。——ビートの軸のまわりにグルグルと絡みつくような口調ながらも、スムースな雰囲気のラップは、非常に聴き心地が良いものだ。また、そんな彼のラップは重厚なブリブリなファンク・カラーが濃厚なもの／哀愁漂うもの／爽快なレイドバック・チューン……など、いわゆるウエストコースト流ギャングスタ・サウンドとの相性も申し分なく、おしなべて均整のとれた好ナンバーを発表している。
