    Arcturusアークトゥルス

    アークトゥルスは回転ドアのようにメンバーが入れ替わるバンドだ。Sverd、さらにMayhemのhellhammerが中心となり、残りはEmperor、Ulver、Ved Buens Endeといったバンドから選りすぐりのメンツが集められる。彼らのサウンドはグラマラスなスカンジナビア系ヘヴィメタル。強烈なキーボードの音色とヴォーカルの金切り声に激しくからむコーラス、寸分の狂いもなくリズムを繰り出すドラムと典型的なメタル・コードが特徴だ。どの曲もドラマティックなひねりがふんだんに盛り込まれ、壮大な物語のごとく展開する。卓越したテクニック、ドラマ性にあふれたサウンドという点で、アークトゥルスはまさにスカンジナビアン・ブラック・メタル・サウンドの典型といえる。
