    ニューオリンズ出身のトランペットの名手、アル・ハートはディキシーランド・ミュージックを演奏して現代の聴衆を驚嘆させ、ポップ・ジャズ分野における人気の度合いは、ハーブ・アルパートなどと肩を並べるほどであった。ジャズ界の仲間たちから尊敬を集めていたハートは、50年代以降にクロスオーヴァー分野で活躍していたスターの中でも、タイトでシンプルなスタイルに移行することなく、音があふれんばかりのサウンドにこだわり続けた数少ない１人であった。「ジャヴァ」や「ファンシー・パンツ」などといったハートのヒット曲は今日でもイージー・リスニング専門のAMラジオ局でかかり、またアン・マーガレットとのコラボレーション・アルバム『ビューティー・アンド・ザ・ベアード』はカクテル・ミュージック・ファンの間では人気の高い貴重盤である。
