    トロけるようなスウィートネスで、聴くものを昇天させるバラディア、アーロン・ネヴィル。ニューオリンズを代表する兄弟グループ、ネヴィル・ブラザーズのいち員としても有名だが、アーロンはグループのなかで唯一ソロとしても成功を収めている。
    60年代初期にソロ・デビューを果たして以来精力的な活動を続け、66年に名バラード「テル・イット・ライク・イット・イズ」でR＆Bヒット・チャート第１位を獲得。サム・クックやクライド・マクファター流のR＆Bマナーと、ジーン・オールトリーやロイ・ロジャーズといったカントリー・シンガーのヨーデル唱法を融合させた、その唯一無比なハイ・テナー・スタイルは、文化の交差点ニューオリンズでこそ生まれ得たヴォーカル形態だと言える。
    ネヴィルズでの活動と並行して、93年の『グランド・ツアー』を皮切りに幾枚ものソロ・アルバムをリリース。カントリー／ロック／R＆Bといったジャンルのなかから独自の視点で切り取ったカヴァー曲やオリジナル・ナンバーを続々と披露した。さらに、リンダ・ロンシュタットを始め、さまざまなヴォーカリストとの共演も果たしている。
