    ハードコア・ロック／レゲエ／ヒップホップ／へヴィ・メタル／ファンク……などの多様なエレメントをゴッタ煮した重厚ジャンク・サウンドをブチかました、黒人ロック・バンド。それが24−7スパイズだ。88年のデビューから（事実上解散した）96年まで、彼らは珍妙なイデタチ、ファンキー＆へヴィな演奏、娯楽性に富んだステージングなどの個性をずっと見せてきた。初期のレッド・ホット・チリ・ペッパーズやバッド・ブレインズ、そして御大ファンカデリックにも通じる、愛すべき“アホ精神”が彼らの持ち味に他ならない。
