日本が世界に誇るオルタナティヴ前衛ロック・バンド。スティーヴ・アルビニ、マイク・パットン（ミスター・バングル、フェイス・ノー・モア）、ケヴィン・シャープ（ブルータル・トゥルース）といった、USロックのキー・パーソンたちもメルト・バナナに多大なシンパシーを寄せているようだ。YaSuKo（vo）、Agata（g）、Rika（b）、大島昌樹（dr）によって生みだされる爆裂グルーヴはまったくもって唯一無比。ノイジー／アヴァンギャルド／ラウド／ジャンク／ファスト……でありながらも、キュートでポップな表情が全面を覆う。「スヌーピーの着ぐるみを身にまとった変態芸術家」みたいな感じか。とにかくカッコいい存在だ。
