    フラワー・パワーの楽天的ムードをそのままグループ名に冠したような、イッツ・ア・ビューティフル・デイ。聖地サンフランシスコから69年に登場した。彼らの音楽性は、ドラッグの酩酊状態をそのまま反映したような幻想的なもので、リーダーのデヴィッド・ラフレームのヴァイオリンと女性ヴォーカルをフィーチャーしたユニークなサウンドを奏でた。代表曲の「White Bird」や「Hot Summer Day」はヒッピー世代のアンセム。東洋思想や中近東的音階を取り入れた不可思議な音世界から、当時の気分みたいなものを嗅ぎとることができるだろう。
