    アシッド・ハウス・ユニット「サブ・サブ」として始まり、バッドリー・ドローン・ボーイのバックを務め、マンチェスターの10年を見つづけてきたダヴズが１stアルバム『ロスト・ソウルズ』（00年）で集約したもの……ハシエンダ（マンチェスターの伝説的なクラブ）の狂騒、ストーン・ローゼス〜オアシスという男達のうた、BDBという新しい種の萌芽——これは、イギリス北部のいち工業都市に過ぎないマンチェスターが遺し、伝えていくものすべてを背負っているといっても過言ではない。
    「ギター・ミュージックの救世主」と謳われる彼らの音世界。アシッド・ハウスの方法論をそのまま引き継いだエレクトロニックの酩酊感と、バンド・サウンドというエモーショナルな表現手段を、マンチェの「過去と未来」を見つめながら繰り広げているのだ。消え入りそうなほど繊細なメロディは"ロスト・ソウルズ（失われた魂）"を鎮めながら、新しい時代の到来を宣言している。05年に発表された『サム・シティーズ』では、より濃厚でスピリチュアルなサウンドを展開しており、ネクスト・ステージへと登り始めた彼らの今後が大いに気になるところである。
