    UKダンス・チャートを華々しく彩るグループのひとつとして挙げられるアポロ・フォー・フォーティー。——アシッドハウス・エクスプロージョンの興奮冷めやらぬ90年、リバプールにて結成。メンバーによって設立されたレーベル＜Stealth Sonic Records＞から発表した「Astral America」（93年）を皮切りに、「（Don't Fear）The Reaper」「Krupa」がクラブ・ヒットを記録した。95年には、デビュー・アルバム『Millennium Fever』をリリース。ヴァン・ヘイレンの楽曲をサンプリングした「Ain't Talkin' Bout Dub」（97年）は、全英チャートのトップ10入りを果たす快挙を成し遂げた。
    U2もプロデューサー／リミキサーとして抜擢するほどの信頼の厚さ。アグレッシヴなブレイクビーツを主軸にロックからテクノに至る多種多様なスタイルを吸収し、変幻自在にハイブリッド・サウンドへと再構築することから"ポスト・ファットボーイ・スリム"との呼び声も高い。
